Navya plays Mammootty’s wife!

Navya Nair who had announced her wedding to Mumbai-based Santhosh Menon hasn’t yet made up her mind about her career after marriage.

Now, she wants to complete all her pending projects before tying the knot in January 2010.

Anyway she is now fulfilling one of her long cherished dreams of playing Mammootty’s wife in a film.

Navya is playing wife to Mammootty in Drona directed by Shaji Kailas where he plays Pattazhi Madhavan Namboodiri, a college principal and an oracle.

Navya is thrilled that she is “playing Mammootty’s wife in reel life”, an actor whom she is a big fan and likes his style of acting.

Dhrona renamed


Director Shaji Kailas has renamed his upcoming movie from Dhrona to Dhrona 2010. This is because two films, Hindi and Telugu with the name Dhrona, have both flopped. He definitely doesn’t want the same fate for his film. The film stars Mammootty in the lead. His role is that of a “sanyasi’ with mystical powers. The movie will release around February next year.

Kanika opposite Mammootty in Dhrona


Kanika is the new star in the Malayalam film industry. After the tremendous success of Bhagyadevatha and the latest super hit movie Pazhassi Raja, there has been no looking back for the actress. The actress has virtually breathed life into the role of Kaitheri Makkam in Pazhassi Raja.

After that scintillating performance the actress has been roped in to perform another vital role in the upcoming Malayalam movie Droner by director Shaji Kailas, opposite Mammootty. Shwetha Vijay who had made her debut opposite Sureshgopi in the movie Kadaksham is also making her appearance onscreen as another heroine opposite Mammootty.


Apart from Mammootty, Kanika and Shwetha Vijay, the movie also features Thilakan and Manoj K Jayan in prominent roles. A K Sajan handles the script of this movie which is being produced by Aroma. The shooting has already begun in Ottappalam, Kerala.

Dhrona to start rolling from November 5


The movie is Shaji Kilas 's fifth directorial venture with mammootty, after the super hits like Valliatten,The King, The Trouth. In 'Drona' Mammootty playing the role of Vasthu Shilpi named vaishakan Namboothiri for this Myth-Action Movie,scripted by A.K.Sajan. Vijayaraghavan, Manoj K Jayan is also part of the movie.

The shooting of the film start by November 5th at Ottappalam, produced by Aroma Mani in the banner of Aroma films will hit the screen on February 18.

Mammootty-Sureshgopi comes up with Droner


Mammootty is back with filmmaker Shaji Kailas after a considerable gap of nearly 5 years or so with yet another thriller Malayalam movie Droner. Currently he is busy with the shooting of the movie Chattambinadu. The movie which is to be produced by Aroma Movies will have its script by A K Sajan. The shooting would progress in areas of Ottappalam, Chavakkadu, Guruvayoor, and Chennai.

Mammootty and Shaji Kailas team has churned out hit movies like The Truth and The King in the past. Shaji Kailas who is presently engaged with the work of the Malayalam movie Rahgupathy Raghava Rajaram with Prithviraj in the lead would begin the shooting of the Mammootty starrer Droner by early November.

‘Droner’ is Mammootty’s next


After half a decade from their last movie together, Mammootty and director Shaji Kailas are coming up once again with a thriller. Titled ‘Droner’, this will be the next project to take off after ‘Chattambinaadu’, which is currently on sets.

To be produced by Aroma movie, ‘Droner’ will be in the scripts of A K Saajan. Expected to kickoff its shoot by the first of November, the movie will be shot in and around Ottappalam, Chavakkad, Guruvayoor, and Chennai.

Shaji Kailas is presently busy, giving final touches to his first movie with Prithviraj titled ‘Ragupathy Raghava Rajaram’. The movie featuring the young star in the three title roles is expected to grace the theatres by the mid of November.
